Former Ravalli County Extension Agent Bobbie Roos was honored at the annual MSU Extension conference in Bozeman.

Roos was given the 2013 Silver Buffalo Award, recognizing her 19 years of service, three of which were as Ravalli County Extension agent. She currently is the Daniels County agent. The award is the highest honor of the Montana Joint Council of Extension Professionals.

Sheila Friedrich, Sheridan County Extension agent, said, "Bobbie...has run an outstanding, well-rounded Extension program in two counties (Ravalli and Daniels) that couldn't have been more different from each other."

In Daniels County, Roos offers programs in agronomy, weed and pest control, horitculture and livestock and has a strong 4-H program. She also initiated the programs "Strong Women" and "Steps to a New You."
