Hamilton City Council to Discuss Water Rates Tuesday

The council sent out a notice to residents that rates are proposed to increase three times over the next two years.
Under the proposal:
The monthly base rate charge and water usage charge will each increase 5% Oct 1 of this year, 5% on July 1, 2013 and 13% on July 1, 2014.
The monthly Wastewater (sewer) base rate charge and and usage charge will each increase 8% on Oct 1 of this year, 8% on July 1 of 2013 and 8 percent on July1, 2014.
Also on the agenda are public hearings on the proposed modification of Impact Fees to be imposed on developments to fund additional capacity of the city’s water and wastewater systems, police facilities and transportation facilities to handle development needs.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Hamilton City Hall on South 2nd Street.
