Hamilton High School Fall Sports on the Horizon
The month of August brings along preparation for fall high school sports throughout the U.S. For Hamilton parents and players, the seasonal Hamilton High School Parent/Player fall sports meeting is Tuesday, August 7th. Activities Director Travis Blome said the meeting is at the Hamilton High School Performing Arts Center (PAC), starting at 6:30 p.m. Blome will present participation requirements, training rule policy and other general information. Then, the individual coaches will discuss their various rules and practice times for Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, Volleyball and Cheerleading.
All Montana high school and middle school athletes need to have a qualified sports physical before they start practice. Many private doctors are providing those exams, but Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital has a great program that actually helps the valley's high school and middle school athletic budgets. Amy James of the Hamilton hospital said the sports physicals will be at the hospital's Rehabilitation Center Wednesday, August 8, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will also be a clinic set up for athletes at Bitterroot Physicians Clinic North in Victor August 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each physical costs $25 (Cash or Check ONLY) and that money is donated back to the individual students' schools. The doctors and staff donate their time. You need a Sports Physical Form. Download one at the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital website or check with your coaches. Parents need to fill out sign that paperwork and come with their child to the physical.
