For the third year, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is hosting a Women's Health Symposium.

The September 15 event is supported by  Soroptimist International of Hamilton and is directed toward the women of the Bitterroot Valley.

There will be a number of presentations by hospital doctors and medical specialists during the Saturday morning affair.

The Women's Health Symposium will feature nine classes, including:

  • Bone health
  • Vitamin D
  • Colon Health
  • Memory
  • Balance
  • Sun Safety
  • Heart Health
  • Exercise
  • To find out your cholesterol levels, a technician will draw a sample of your blood. To insure an accurate sample, remember to drink plenty of water, but do not eat or have caffeinated beverages 8 to 10 hours prior to screening. Before the end of the symposium you will have your results. Participants will also have the opportunity to have blood pressure and BMI (body mass index) screenings. We encourage you to dress comfortably for the day.

The day includes pampering, too - a healthy breakfast, massage, a complete lipid panel, a goodie bag, raffle prizes and an opportunity to purchase health screenings at discounted prices.

The symposium runs from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $40. The space is limited, so call 375-4500.
