The Hamilton Players will have the Second Annual Hammy Awards for the community theater January 4th. The black tie affair celebrates the best of of the 2012-2013 season.

This year, each play's program had a ballot for the audience to fill out, nominating their favorite performances. At the end of the season those ballots were tallied. That list is on-line at the Hamilton Players website.

The final voting will be done by secret ballot from "full season" ticket holders, since they are most likely to have seen all the productions.

The 'Best Musical' category includes:

  • The Sound of Music
  • Sweeney Todd
  • Anything Goes
  • Nunsense
  • Return to the Forbidden Planet
  • The 'Best Non-musical' play will be chosen from:

  • Wally's Cafe
  • The Diary of Anne Frank
  • The Women
  • 'Best Actor in a Musical' includes Kirk Crews, Eric Monson, Terry Croghan and Nathaniel Heckeroth. 'Best Actress in a Musical' will be between Tasha Fain, Mara Lynn Luther, Jennifer Doering, Peggy Bucheit and Krysten Perkins.

Tickets will be $40 and will go on sale the afternoon of December 13. Seating is limited.

By the way, the Hamilton Players are selling season tickets for the 2014 season, which includes 'Oklahoma,' 'Harvey,' 'The Music Man,' 'Boeing-Boeing' and 'Young Frankenstein: The Musical.'

The box office is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at (406) 375-9050.
