Starting this weekend, the Hamilton Playhouse will be producing some great live theater the cold Montana winter in the Bitterroot Valley.

The Players will basically "roast" the valley and its culture with a one-night-only locally written and produced "Forbidden Bitterroot." The evening takes its cue from the landmark play "Forbidden Broadway" and will have some familiar Broadway songs with alternate lyrics that parody life in the Bitterroot. A highlight of the fundraiser for the theater will be "Tick Check." A few songs, some skits and a bit of improv are all meant to amuse and poke fun at the land and people between the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains.

Tickets are very scarce for the single performance. The Hamilton Players ticket office will have the details.

Then, in February, the Hamilton Playhouse presents their production of "Sweeney Todd." The anticipation for this play is already high, with the auditions producing a cast of top notch Hamilton Players actors.

Eric Monson will be Sweeney Todd, Mara Lynn Luther is Mrs Lovett, and Jamie Parnell and Tasha Fain play Anthony and Johanna. With a supporting cast loaded with talent, director denise rose is looking forward to rehearsals.

Tickets are not on sale yet, but will go one sale three weeks before the premiere, which will be February 22. the show will run for three weekends.
