The next play for the Hamilton Players will be "Love, Sex and the I.R.S." Auditions are Monday, March 6th.

The Hamilton Players describe the comedy as a cross between the TV classic "I Love Lucy" and the movie classic "Some Like It Hot." The play, written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, will be on stage for three weekends in April - from April 14 to April 30. Rehearsals will start next week.

The plot - In the 1970s, two guys, Jon and Leslie, have been rooming together. They're single but file tax returns as a married couple. When word comes that an I.R.S. investigation is planned, the fun starts.

Leslie masquerades as a housewife, helped by Jon's fiancee, Kate. However, Kate and Leslie are "more than friends," if you catch my meaning. Then, here comes an ex-girlfriend and one of the guy's moms.

The complications grow exponentially and the audience provides the laughs.

There are roles for five men (character ages 25-50) and three women (character ages 25-50). Perusal scripts are available at Chapter One Book Store in Hamilton.

The auditions will be Monday night, March 6, at 7 p.m. The Hamilton Playhouse is at 100 Ricketts Road, west of Hamilton, and the phone number is (406) 375-9050. You can visit their website.
