On February 23, the spectacle that is people jumping into cold water is coming to Hamilton.

The GAN Warriors Polar Plunge will be at noon that Saturday at Hieronymus Park on the north end of Hamilton. Anyone can jump in for a $35 registration fee (which includes a t-shirt and food). The event will include a silent auction, door prizes and, of course, heat!

The money is being raised to send youngsters Levi, Aaron and Alan Spencer to a clinical trial that will hopefully halt the progression of the affliction GAN in their bodies. This will raise funds toward a $150,000 goal, which would then be matched by a $450,000 grant from the Doris Buffet Sunshine Foundation. $87,000 has already been raised, and the deadline is April 30.

Organizers would like to increase their volunteer staff for the event and they are also inviting everyone to come watch.
