Hamilton School Superintendent To Retire

Hamilton School Superintendent Duby Santee has announced his retirement. Santee has sent his letter of resignation to the Hamilton School Board, which meets in regular session next Monday.
Santee, who has been in education for 29 years (22 of those years in Hamilton), said in the letter that “the time has come for me to find a new trail to explore.” He will complete the current school year, with his retirement scheduled for July 1, 2012.
He was first hired by the Hamilton School District as the Grantsdale Elementary School Principal. After 9 years there, he was principal of Washington Elementary School for 8 years, and currently is finishing up his fifth year as district superintendent.
Duby has been a regular guest on KLYQ with a monthly school district report on our Bitterroot Morning newscast.
In his resignation letter, Santee thanked the staff, school boards and others he has worked with.
