In the Class A Southwestern Divisional Tournament in Dillon, the Hamilton Broncs suprised the Corvallis Blue Devils in the opening game, defeating them 61 to 54. The Broncs had lost twice to their valley rivals during the regular season. With the win, the Broncs advance to a semifinal game against powerhouse Dillon at 12:30 Friday afternoon.

News Talk 1240 KLYQ will broadcast that game, with pre-game starting about 12:20.

Meanwhile, the Stevensville Yellowjackets earned a first round "bye" and will not play until 6:30 Friday evening. They will play the winner of the Butte Central - Anaconda game Thursday.

On the girls side of the tourney, the Stevensville girls also earned a "bye" with their season record, and will play at 8pm Friday night. They will play the winner of the Anaconda-Corvallis game, which is at 8pm Thursday.

The Hamilton Lady Broncs lost their opening game against host Dillon by a score of 35 to 28. The Lady Broncs staged a fourth quarter rally, but came up short. They will advance to the Saturday morning loser out bracket, and will face the loser of the Stevensville game Friday night.

And, don't forget the Class B Western Divisional at Hamilton High School. The most talked-about game of that tournament so far was the Wednesday battle between Ronan and Troy. It went into an amazing 4 - count 'em - 4 overtimes before Ronan pulled it with a 77 to 69 victory.
