The three-block water main replacement project on South 3rd Street in Hamilton has reached a point that new curbs are being installed at the intersection of South 3rd and State Street, next to the Hamilton Fire Hall. The design includes improved pedestrian "bump outs," like the 4th and State intersection.

The next major goal is to get the street paved before the Hamilton Farmers Market starts its regular season May 5th. The pavement will be an improvement on the street, extending from curb to curb, according to Hamilton Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf.

Market Manager Laura Craig said the Farmers Market sets up booths on Bedford, South 2nd and South 3rd Streets each summer. This weekend however, April 28, a mini-farmers market will have a smaller number of booths on Bedford only, in front of the Ravalli County Courthouse and the Ravalli County Museum. The May 5th opening will include a kids parade, May Day activities and a full range of "Made in Ravalli County" products and local harvests.
