An old water main that runs along Hamilton's South 3rd Street is being replaced.

Hamilton Mayor Jerry Steele said the start of a multi-year project will change out the old pipe for new (see photo) from Montana Avenue to State Street.

He said the $300,000 project this year will complete three blocks of line with the first areas impacted between Montana and Grove Avenue along South 3rd.

Water will be shut off to homes in the area at times during the project. And, of course, traffic will be re-routed around the construction sites.
