The Hamilton public fireworks display provided the "oooh's" and "aaaah's" that you might expect.

The major display was surrounded by smaller shows put on by folks who purchased some impressive sky packages. Though the public display is small compared to larger cities, the booms and flashes were still impressive as they echoed into the canyons of the Bitterroot Mountains.

The cost of the display is always a concern each year, and fundraising has already begun for next year's show. The city needs to raise thousands of dollars needed to put on a show of decent length and variety. So, let us be the first to remind you to donate so we can celebrate Independence Day the sky!

And, again, a big "thank you!" to the area volunteer firemen, who caught the fires that an errant rocket or two set off.
