The US Chamber of Commerce named Lakeland Feed Supply of Hamilton as one of the seven national finalists for the 2012 Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award.

The competition started with regional winners, submitted by local Chambers of Commerce, and only seven move on to the national finals, which means Lakeland Feed Supply is invited to send people to the America's Small Business Summit, May 21-23 in Washington DC.

At that meeting, the national winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize, courtesy of the US Chamber of Commerce and Sam's Club.

Lakeland Feed and Supply, owned by Mike Pflieger since 2000, is a full-line feed manufacturer, fertilizer blender and supplier of agriculture goods and services. Since Pflieger took over, the staff has grown from 10 to 40 people and profits have increased.
They also have tried alternative advertising methods - such as distributing sample products on horse and buggy.

The awards luncheon will be May 22nd.

This is the third year in a row that a Bitterroot Valley business has made it to the finals. Hul's Dairy was first, then R&R Conner Helicopters and now, Lakeland Feeds.
