About 10 trucks and over 50 people will be involved in a training exercise at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories Tuesday, March 21.

A notification was sent to the surrounding residential neighborhood from the RML Public Affairs Office last week. In that note, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases institute informed the public of the training day.

The Hamilton facility is hosting the daylong activities because of requests by federal, state and local agencies. Some of the participants will be wearing hazmat suits. Visiting federal and state agencies will bring specialized trucks and trailers to Hamilton.

The outside training portion of the day will be on the north side of the campus, according to officials. The session is scheduled to let first responders work with hazmat equipment.
