Indian Fire is 70 Percent Contained
The Indian Fire on the Salmon-Challis National Forest is now 70 percent contained, as of the morning of July 28.
The National Incident Report showed the forest fire at about 1,600 acres with 510 people on the firelines.
The fire is just north of the Salmon River in Idaho, with fire traffic on Indian Creek Road, Sage Creek Road and roads east of Squaw Creek Road in Idaho. Those roads have been closed for public safety reasons – such as fire traffic and rocks rolling down the hillsides. Firefighters from the Bitterroot National Forest are assisting with the efforts in Idaho.
