Bitterroot Valley residents have had day after day this fall with smoke as their next door neighbor. Now, with the recent snowfall and inversion, thick fog is the new player.

The fog came in Tuesday morning (see photo), and then redoubled in thickness Wednesday morning.

New weather systems should clear the fog out of the area this week, but until then drive carefully. Besides the fog, hunting season has increased the number of deer crossing the highway.

The Montana Highway Patrol advises you to slow down and take a little extra time - arrive alive.
