Judge Jeff Langton Says Meth Accusations are a ‘Smear Job’
Judge Jeff Langton is adamantly refusing accusations by his political opponent that he purchased meth from a juvenile. Candidate Robert Myers says his opponent Jeff Langton has had multiple DUIs and has even purchased meth from a juvenile, Langton admits to facing a DUI for alcohol, but says that he has never used meth.
“This is absolute complete fabrication,” said Langton. “I have never purchased methamphetamine from anybody, anytime, anywhere. It is a complete false lie. I can tell you that 11 to 12 years ago, I did receive a DUI citation and I dealt with that.”
Langton asks for his accusers to come forward in person and suggests that his opponent Judge Myers is pulling a last minute smear job to win the election.
“The whole thing is just a smear job frankly,” Langton said. “He is just pulling all the stops to do a last minute smear campaign. I have been in office for 23 years and these things come up in the last two weeks prior to an election. That by itself makes it suspect. If these people have something to say, then let them come forward and say it and I will respond to it.”
When asked if he will pursue slander charges against Myers, Langton said, “That’s certainly under consideration, I’m not going to just let it slide."
