KLYQ Supports the Kiwanis Christmas Food Drive
The Bitterroot Valley Kiwanis Club is again gathering food and funds for the Christmas Food Box program.
The club members provide food boxes for an ever increasing number of families in need in the Bitterroot Valley. Last year, the total was 300 families.
KLYQ is proud to help support the food drive again this year. The best way for you to help is with a cash donation. Of course, non-perishable food items are always welcome.
The drive is unique in that each family gets boxes of food that will last more than just one day. And also included are items such as toothbrushes and sanitary items. The club builds up their cash reserve during the year, but depend on community donations to meet the need each Christmas. The Hamilton grocery stores give incredible discounts to the club as they fill the boxes in the week before Christmas.
Working with local agencies, the club gets a list of the families in need and how many kids are in the family, so that the boxes can be matched up with the people.
You can easily help – donations are being accepted in Hamilton at First Security Bank, First Interstate Bank, Farmers State Bank and Ravalli County Bank. Make sure your check is payable to Bitterroot Valley Kiwanis. A donation receipt can be provided, too.
You can mail your donation to:
Or, come by the KLYQ Studios at 320 North First and we’ll make sure the money gets to the club.
Remember the Kiwanis slogan: “Making a difference one child at a time.”
