The Hamilton Broncs lost to Laurel in their opening game of the State Class A boys basketball tournament in Butte. The final score was Laurel 57 Hamilton 48.

Hamilton lost the game in the fourth quarter. At the end of the first quater, they trailed the top-seeded Laurel team 16 to 14. At the half, the Broncs were behind by 8 points, 37 to 29. But they tied the score in a hot third quarter and went into the final period tied 43 to 43. Both teams were cold in most of that quarter, but Laurel broke loose at the end and won the game 57 to 48.
