Lawsuit to Uncover Public Employee Pay Explained

The Montana Policy Institute was recently granted access to Department of Administration records regarding payments to Montana State employees. KGVO News spoke with the C.E.O. of the Montana Policy institute, Carl Graham who took the time to explain why a lawsuit was necessary to obtain the information.

Judge Dorothy McCarter ordered that the Department of Administration release its electronic records of actual employee pay as well as pay for the Montana Policy Institute’s legal costs. With over 300 types of payments made to public employees in the forms of paychecks, benefits, e.t.c., M.P.I. still hasn’t uncovered exactly how much money is being spent.
