Less Than 3 Bucks? Fill ‘er Up!

Happy New Year early!
At the end of the year, gasoline prices in the Bitterroot Valley, and much of the rest of Montana, fell below $3 a gallon. The price hit $2.98 for regular unleaded at many of Hamilton’s stations.
Similar prices were found by AAA Montana at Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena and Missoula. Of course, if you weren’t paying attention, there were still places you could pay more – up to an average of $3.09 in Billings.
Tara Hanley of AAA Montana said the last time the statewide average price fell below $3 a gallon was February 2011. Meanwhile, nationally, the price of regular unleaded was still $3.27.
