Thursday, November 21, the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department put up the snowflake decorations on the downtown streetlamps as part of the holiday celebrations.

The firemen work with the Hamilton Downtown Association to install the lights, and afterwards the association provides a free chili feed (with cornbread). Merchants are planning plenty of activities this season, starting with the Black Friday event lighting of the Christmas tree and the arrival of Santa Claus. That will start at 6 p.m. November 29 at the Main Street side of the Hamilton Post Office, with late store openings, burn barrels on the street corners (with s'mores!) and carolers.
