Low Snow Levels Cause Another Delay in Lost Trail Ski Opening
The snow levels have not been enough to open the ski hills at Lost Trail Powder Mountain. The popular ski and snowboarding site is closed for another weekend, with a tentative opening scheduled for Thursday, December 15.
Many other Northwestern ski areas have not been happy with the weather, either.
The weather forecasters have predicted more snow in the coming days, but much of the storm's energy has been sliding past Montana and the cold temperatures have been the main feature of this system.
As of Friday evening, the National Weather Service is predicting an increasing possibility of significant snow Sunday night, December 11.
KLYQ will announce the opening of the ski area at the south end of the Bitterroot Valley as soon as we know. We also suggest you continue to check the Lost Trail Powder Mountain website.
