Magruder Corridor is Closed Due to Idaho Fires
Idaho fire officials have temporarily closed the Magruder Corridor Road.
The wilderness road, that connects the West Fork of the Bitterroot Valley in Montana with Dixie and Elk City in Idaho, was closed because of widespread forest fires in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. In fact, large portions of those forests are now closed, because of the fires.
The Magruder Road starts about a mile south of the West Fork Ranger Station, which is 18 miles south of Darby. The road winds for 100 miles between the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and the Frank Church Wilderness.
