Many Montana Mountain Lion Districts Reach Season Quotas – Updated
Updated — The hunting of all mountain lions in Montana Hunting Districts 250 and 270, which include portions of Ravalli County, will close Wednesday evening, February 13, a half hour after sunset. The Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks officials were told the pre-established harvest numbers had been reached.
Other districts in and around Ravalli County remain open. However, the FWP checks the quota results daily and areas continue to change status.
Add districts 250 and 270 to others that have been closing over the past month throughout the state. Those include a new closure on female mountain lions in northcentral Montana. The districts 400, 401, 403, 406, 415 and 441 will close Tuesday after sunset, Feb 12.
And, as of Wednesday evening, Districts 202 and 203 in Missoula and Mineral Counties will close to hunting of female lions. Region 7 in eastern Montana will close to all mountain lion hunting.
