The holidays are sad for some who have lost a loved one during the year. That's where the Marcus Daly Hospice Tree of Lights ceremony helps out.

The annual event brings together families and friends who are all remembering special people in their lives.

On December 7th at 5 p.m. the group will gather in the Marcus Daly Hospital Blodgett and Canyon View conference rooms for refreshments, followed by a ceremony of music and reflection. Names of those being remembered are read and then the crowd heads outside, where the Tree of Lights is lit by the entrance to the Marcus Daly Hospice wing of the hospital.

The ceremony is free of charge. However, you can have a loved one's name remembered with a light on the tree for $5. A $15 donation to Hospice will get you an ornament for you or someome you select on your holiday tree.

Other donations for Marcus Daly Hospice are always welcome. $100 donation will recognize you as a Tree of Lights sponsor. $250 will put your name or your business name on the list as a "Beacon of Light on hospice publications.
