The Marcus Daly Hospital's Sleep Center has been notified that it is now accedited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

The accreditation is good for five years, and certifies that the facility meets standards set by the AASM, including personnel, equipment, patient care and quality assurance.

The AASM started accrediting sleep disorders centers in 1977 and has 2,500 centers adhering to their standards.

Amy James-Linton of Marcus Daly Memorial Hosital said that the accreditation is a welcome development for the center. She said that patients have been praising the facility and staff for their work.

The Sleep Center is on the southwest wing of the Hamilton hospital.
