Mars Rover Attempts Landing Tonight!

Tonight at 11:32 Mountain Time, the latest robot rover sent to Mars will land – hopefully. We won’t know about until minutes later, due to communication time delay.

We’ve just watched the video NASA developed to show the necessary steps that need to be completed successfully to enable the rover to land on surface of Mars.

It’s an amazing series of things that need to happen perfectly in order to land. And it needs to happen without any human help. It takes too long for the signal to get back to Earth for engineers to correct anything during the final 7 minutes of landing.

NASA TV will have live coverage on their DISH and DIRECTV channels and, of course, on line.
