Max Coleman decided he needed to drop a few pounds this year, and received a $5,000 incentive from his Exit Realty boss is he did it by January 1st of 2012. If he doesn't, he owes his boss $2,500. Good incentive! And the amount is not small - 41 pounds. Max likes to help out the community, though (he was one of the original Mammo-Men for the breast cancer fundraiser last year).
He's been working out and consistently dropping the weight, but is not at his goal yet. His progress is under medical supervision with a personal trainer and dietitian. He is sure that he'll make it and when he does, he wants to donate the money to the Marcus Daly Hospital Foundation.
Ron Kullick of the foundation said that the money would be used to put on more educational programs dealing with health and wellness in the community. The hospital has been successful with a diabetes series and a Women's Health Day.
It was also a good time to tie in a pledge drive to raise even more money. Max has "Power of Health Wellness Challenge cards available and you can donate a lump sum or by the pound.
