Miss Montana Lauren Schofield has a degree in Biochemistry-Molecular Biology and is an advocate for students to get careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in a program called STEM.

She's been touring schools in the state and will be in the Bitterroot Valley Wednesday, November 9, at Hamilton High School.

In a news release, Lauren says, "It's cool to be nerdy." She wants students to realize the "wide range of possibilities that STEM fields provide, including critical thinking skills."

As a personal example, Scofield plans to continue a medical course and become an OB/GYN.

Her presentation at Hamilton High School will be Wednesday, November 9, at 2:30 p.m. she might even include a bit of music, too.
