Miss Rodeo Montana is Sidelined Because of Back Injury
Doctors have recommended no horseback riding or strenuous public appearances for Miss Rodeo Montana 2013 Alyson Grinestaff, because of a back injury.
Billings Orthopedic & Sports Center doctors determined that Alyson had two levels of bulging discs in her lower back spinal column. As a result, her upcoming appearances have been cancelled by the the Miss Rodeo Montana board. Also, she will not be able to attend the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.
National Director Jody Rempel said the decision was taken "in the best interest of Alyson's health."
Grinestaff, in a press release, said it was a heartbreaking development, but she had been "experiencing incredible pain trying to ride at rodeos." She also said she wanted to be part of the western lifestyle "for the rest of my life, even if that means halting completely for the next few months. I guess that WHOA means WHOA!"
Miss Teen Rodeo Montana 2013 Alaini Lorash will fill in for Alyson at a number of appearances.
Rempel said that the 2014 Miss Rodeo Montana and Miss Teen Rodeo Montana pageants will go on as scheduled in January in Great Falls. Interested applicants should call (406) 570-4368.
