The valley's premier a cappella group, the Montana A Cappella Society, will have their annual free Mother's Day concert Sunday, May 10.

The group will sing at 3 p.m. in one of their favorite buildings for sound quality - the Corvallis United Methodist Church. Director Don Matlock likes the space so much that the singers recorded one of their CDs there.

The theme of their 11th annual spring concert is "Peace and Love," and Matlock said that there will be ancient songs included in the program - up to 500 years old. But he's added a more recent song or two that will bring the audience into some favorite music of the 60s. Of course, the a cappella group will not include any instrumental accompaniment - just the sounds of the human voice (and maybe some hand-clapping.)

Following the concert will be homemade cookies and refreshments.

The Corvallis United Methodist Church is south of Corvallis on the East Side Highway at the intersection with Cemetery Road.
