Montana State University Debuts New Bobcat Logo
The Montana State University athletics department has adopted a slightly changed Bobcat logo and has changed the font of the block letter “M.”
The old bobcat logo had been in place since 2004. This version makes it a little more realistic-looking, according to MSU officials. The “M” was changed to look less like the “M” used by the universities in Michigan and Missouri.
The Associated Press quoted university officials as saying the logos reflect the “dynamic state” of the MSU sports teams. The university paid Torch Creative $18,000 to redesign the logos. Athletics director Peter Fields says the logo on the football field will cost about $40,000 to change.
By the way, apparel with the new design is already available!
