August 9th, the Bitterroot National Forest's Moon Walk will be at Kiwanis River Park in Hamilton.

Riparian areas will be explained by folks from the Bitter Root Water Forum. The 7 p.m. presentation is good for the whole family, as a short little walk along the riverbank will show how vegetation helps the Bitterroot River.

Find out the answers to questions like how does riparian vegetation help watershed health and how does it keep our water cold? How important is water temperature?

The presentation is a preview to the Water Forum's annual River Fest, which will be Friday and Saturday, August 15 and 16, with a 5K run Friday evening and a river cleanup Saturday, along with River Fest from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
