More Snow in the Mountains

lost trail pass
Lost Trail Pass May 12. (Idaho Transportation Department)
Snow and ice were on the road surfaces of Lost Trail Pass Monday morning, but much less than Sunday, when a Canadian cold front dumped snow in the early morning. The photo is looking north from Idaho.

The snowpack is above average throughout the Bitterroot Mountains, with some snow courses reporting 200 percent of normal.

Forecasters expect partly cloudy skies and warmer temperatures this week, with the next danger for the valley – flooding. We’ll keep you up to date on KLYQ 1240 AM and here on-line with river levels and areas of concern in the Bitterroot Valley.
