I don’t usually watch movies, not because I don’t like them, but because I don’t have much free time to do so. However, the holidays are different. During our brief break from sports, school and work, my family and I love to watch Christmas movies. Not just any Christmas movies though, we have our favorites, and we watch them every year. Most of them more than once.

  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Chevy Chase stars in the holiday classic as a father who is just trying to give his family the perfect Christmas, but thanks to family, things don’t turn out quite as he planned.

  • A Christmas Story

This movie depicts quintessential Americana in the 1940s through a 9-year-old boy’s eyes, and his dream of unwrapping a Red Ryder bb gun for Christmas.

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas

A grumpy green grinch despises Christmas, and those who love it. That is because he thinks Christmas is about stuff. However, a little tiny who named Cindy Lou teaches him what the real meaning of Christmas is.

  • The Muppet Christmas Carol

This Jim Hensen inspired classic is fun for the kids and adults. Michael Kane stars as Scrooge alongside Kermit the frog. This is the Muppet spin on the Charles Dickens’ classic, ‘A Christmas Carol.’

  • White Christmas

Bing Crosby stars in the once black and white Christmas favorite. With help from two sisters and his best friend, they save an inn from closing, just in time for Christmas.
