Somebody has the perfect name for two renovated areas of Lake Como, northwest of Darby. It is you? The Bitterroot National Forest is accepting name suggestions from the public for the Campground and the Group Site at the popular destination.
The Como Group Site will re-open early this summer on the east side of Lake Como, across from the Rock Creek Horse Camp. It will inlude a new pavilion, restroom, picnic tables, and parking. Groups up to 75 people will be able to reserve the area for special events. And it needs a name.
The Upper Como Campground has been closed since last fall and will open later this year with new fire rings, picnic tables, walk ten camp sites, new outhouses and a new loop road with 9 more campsites. What should its name be?
Send your suggestions to and include:
1. your name, address and phone number
2. The title "Campground Naming Contest"
3. The name or names for the Campground and the Group Site.
4. Specific which name for which campground.
5. A brief explanation for your suggested name or names.
Deadline is April 19th. The winner be announced in May.
