‘Neuroscience of Sex and Violence’ is Friday’s RML Topic
Professor David J. Anderson will talk about brain functions in the latest Rocky Mountain Laboratories public lecture April 17.
The 7 p.m. speaking engagement will be tailored to a general audience and centers on how the brain makes decision with the influence of emotions and other sensory cues, especially dealing with aggression and mating. This free public speech, "The Neuroscience of Sex and Violence,"will be at the Hamilton High School Performing Arts Center.
Dr. Marshall Bloom, RML Associate Director, said in an interview on KLYQ Radio's Event Show that Anderson is an entertaining speaker and has presented at a Tedx Conference and on PBS.
Prof. Anderson is the Seymour Benzer Professor of Biology at the California Institute of Technology. He has worked in neuroscience for over 30 years, concentrating on fruit flies and mice. He is also an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton has been bringing world renowned scientists to the valley in its community outreach series. The lab is part of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
