Some of the band members who played for the Hamilton Players production of “The Music Man” have their own jazz group.

John Wilson and Jack Barnings have joined with Donald Maus and Dick Skultin to form the Bitterroot Jazz Band. They’re just starting to accept gigs around the valley.

You can hear them (and see them, too) at the Blacksmith Brewery in Stevensville this week. They’ll be playing from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The group will be on stage at the Bitterroot Community Band Bandshell July 31. The free concert at Claudia Driscoll Park in Hamilton will start at 8 p.m. You can find out more at the Bitterroot Jazz website.
