Looking back at 2014, there was quite a lot of attention to our stories on the “megaloads” of mining equipment that passed through Montana on their way to Canada.

One of our top “most viewed” story categories included reports of the caravans that were allowed to travel only at night and required some of the traffic lights in Hamilton to be moved to allow the tall loads through.

The megaloads were prohibited from using Lolo Pass, so were diverted to Lost Trail Pass and through the Bitterroot Valley, through Missoula and on north.

No incidents occurred in Ravalli County, though there were demonstrations against the movers in Missoula.

The Megaloads – one of our top stories of 2014 on the KLYQ website.
Here’s our YouTube video from March.
