Nonresident surplus hunting licenses are available in Montana on a first-come, first served basis.

In a Montana FWP news release, officials say the licenses are good for antlered deer and elk in most hunting districts.

The licenses for sale include Montana's big game combination license for $971, the elk combination license for $821 and deer combo for $575. Montana's nonresident combination hunting licenses allow hunting for deer and/or elk and include season conservation, fishing and upland game bird licenses. The big game archery season is September 6 through October 19 and general rifle big game seasons are October 25 to November 30.

A reminder from the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks to follow all regulations and obtain permission to hunt on private property.
