Lakeland Feed and Supply has been fined for OSHA violations at its milling operation.
The US Department of Labor, in a news release this week, said that the Hamilton firm exposed workers to grain bin hazards and issued "27 serious and 3 other-than-serious" violations.
Examples cited included unguarded shafts, missing guarding on platforms, and improper electrical wiring.
The hazards were associated with grain handling operations at the plant and is part of a nationwide OSHA campaign at grain operators following fatalities and injuries in other parts of the country.
Lakeland Feed and Supply has 15 business days to comply, request an informal conference or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
