In honor of the legendary Bitterroot Valley photographer Ernie Peterson (pictured), the annual Ernst Peterson "Photograph Montana" contest is on again at the Ravalli County Museum.
The museum is the official archive of the huge Ernst Peterson photo collection, and the contest is a sneaky way of getting some of his photos on display, along with the contestants' work at the museum on South 3rd in Hamilton.
The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers alike and the deadline is January 28th. That weekend, the photos are set up for display, which opens February 2nd. Awards will be presented March 1st, and the display will stay up until the end of March.
There is an entry fee, but the money goes to conserve the Peterson legacy photos. Check out an entry form at the Ravalli County Museum website or on Facebook at Ravalli County Museum.
