"How Photography Frames our Perceptions" is the theme of Katie Knight's presentation at 6pm this evening at the Ravalli County Museum.

Katie will discuss nearly 100 photographs through the the history of cameras from 1839 to now.

She'll talk about how lower cost portraits led to changes in art styles and how photographs helped construct our perceptions of who we are and how we want to be seen.

She'll also talk about the power of photography on world and social issues and, of course, marketing.

And then, there's the way millions of people use cameras to document their own experiences.

The lecture is sponsored by Humanities Montana, in association with the Daly Mansion and is part of the museum's summer lecture series. The Ravalli County Museum is at the corner of South 3rd and Bedford in Hamilton.
