Portion of Bitterroot River Closed Due to Roaring Lion Fire
The Bitterroot River in the vicinity of the Roaring Lion forest fire has been closed by the Montana Department of Fish Wildife and Parks, as of Tuesday morning, August 2.
The closure is from Wally Crawford Fishing Access Site on the south to Angler's Roost on the north until further notice.
The 10 miles of river is closed to the public due to the unpredictable wind conditions for the next several days at the 4,392-acre forest fire, which is west of the river. Helicopters are also using the river in this area to refill their water buckets.
