The three newest Ravalli County Commissioners were among the 30 commissioners from around the state who attended the Montana State University Local Government Center last month.
Suzy Foss, Matt Kanenwisher and Ron Stoltz completed the first half of a two-part program to become certified. Sessions included training on budget, finance and taxation, intergovermental relations, human resource management, special boards governance and governing philosophy. The certification requires 40 hours of training, which spread over a two year period, according to MSU officials.
The three Ravalli County Commissioners were elected in the last general election and have been serving on the board since January 2011.
According to Dan Clark, the MSU Local Government Center director, the classes are presented in conjunction with the Montana Association of Counties.
