All the people who are running for the Montana state legislature appeared at a voter forum Tuesday evening in Hamilton.

The forum, sponsored by the Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce, included questions developed by local media. The question and answer session was preceded by a "Speed Dating with the Candidates," where people could visit one-on-one with the office-seekers for 5 minutes at a time.

The second such forum will be at the Florence-Carlton School old gym Thursday evening, October 4 at 6 p.m. At that session, the candidates for Ravalli County Commissioner will be in attendance, along with the candidates for the State Senate district up for voting in the November general election.

KLYQ's Steve Fullerton moderated the Tuesday event and will be the moderator Thursday.

By the way, the absentee ballots will be going out in the mail next week, and Ravalli County Clerk and Recorder Regina Plettenberg says the percentage of people voting early is higher than ever before. General Election day is November 6th and KLYQ will have local results as soon as they are available that evening - on the air and on-line.
