Ravalli County Museum Celebrates Harry Potter and Old Science

The building at the corner of South 3rd and Bedford has two main exhibits and some special events this winter. Thursday evenings, January 10, January 24 and February 7, free showings of the first three Harry Potter films will be presented for the whole family.
That ties into the exhibit, Harry Potter’s World, including a certain headmaster’s office, filled with mysteries. There’s a Sorting Hat in the lobby, and chocolate frogs, wands and secret message potions in the Museum Gift Shop. And don’t forget your copy of the Marauders Map.
The Renaissance Science exhibit uses materials from the National Library of Medicine and materials created by Ravalli County Museum staff, exploring Harry Potter’s world and its roots in Renaissance magic, science, and medicine. Locally, the exhibit is sponsored by the Big Sky Renaissance Faire. The Thursday evening openings of the museum are sponsored by Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.
