At 6 p.m. Thursday March 7, the winners will be announced at the official 20th Annual Ernst Peterson Photo Award Ceremony.

Over 425 photos were submitted in this year's competition - a new record for the museum. The judges voted about a week ago and the winning entries will be announced at the presentation in the second floor Old Courthouse courtroom. Director Tamar Stanley is happy that there were quite a few entries in the new Student Category for all ages.

The competition is named for famed Bitterroot Valley photographer - the late Ernst Peterson. Most of his historic photographic collection is housed at the museum.

The museum is continuing its "Free Thursdays," where admission is not charged and the facility stays open into the evening.

By the way, you can still see the Harry Potter display, also on the second floor of the Ravalli County Museum at 205 Bedford in Hamilton, MT.
